You can see some photographs of celebration assemblies that have taken place throughout our school during the last year. Each celebration is special and hold Christ at the Centre.

Assemblies

We have weekly assemblies to celebrate achievements that have taken place in school. Children from every year group are celebrated. The children enjoy listening to scripture, thinking about morals and values we have and joining in with song and prayer. They move onto celebrating their achievements in work and also how children have been living out our mission statement. The children are always really proud to receive their certificates.

Prayer & Liturgy

Prayer and Liturgy is a daily part of life in the classroom. It is a very special time for the children. The children enjoy the prayerful atmosphere.

Christmas

Children enjoy Christmas celebrations throughout the school. They have assemblies, retelling the Christmas story of Jesus being born in different forms for families to share and celebrate. There are readings, music, drama and prayer throughout.

The children also enjoy their Christmas parties, celebrating with their friends the birth of Jesus.

Easter

The season of Easter is celebrated throughout the school. The children remember the sacrifice made by Jesus, to show us how much we are loved. The children enjoy making cards, reflecting on Holy Week and the hope and joy brought on Easter Sunday.

First Holy Communions

Year 4 children are prepared for their First Holy Communion throughout the year. They celebrate this Sacrament together with their families and then have a celebration party in school.

Charity Work

During October, we have a harvest Celebration, where children bring in food that we can give to people in need. We thank God for the food that we have.

During the month of October and the beginning of November, poppies are sold throughout the school to raise money to support the charity. On Remembrance Day, we have a special assembly, remembering all the people who served, and continue to serve the country during times of war and conflict.

Year 6 Leaving

We always try and make Year 6 feel very special and important during their last year with us. At the end of the year, we have ways to make them remember how important they are to us and how much we will miss them. We always wish them every success for their future.

Year 6 had a prom to celebrate the wonderful time they have had together at our school. It celebrates friendships and love. The children really enjoyed this special evening and will remember it for a long time.

Year 6 put on a musical each year to celebrate all their achievements and to put on one last performance in our school. This is always a wonderful evening.
